Stories from tables around the world

Pomegranate juice is a drink that lets you enjoy the sweet-tart flavor of pomegranate.

Origin and food culture

Yalda/Chella in Iran and Afghanistan is a custom in which families gather on the last night of autumn. UNESCO introduces the tradition of people talking together and sharing fruit and food on this night. Red fruits placed on the table symbolize warmth, and pomegranates are among them. Today’s juice is an event menu that introduces the sweet-tart taste of this symbolic fruit.

What is it usually eaten with?

Besides pomegranates, Yalda tables often include other fruits, dried fruits, nuts, and sweets. Sharing food together is part of the food culture story and is not an extra booth item today. The tasting menu for this booth is pomegranate juice only.
