Stories from tables around the world

This menu lets you enjoy Pu-er tea, which is linked to Yunnan, China, together with mooncake.

Origin and food culture

Pu-er tea shares its name with the tea-producing areas of Yunnan, China, and is connected to the region’s tea culture. Mooncake is a pastry shared with family and neighbors during the Mid-Autumn Festival, known for its round shape and varied fillings. Brewing tea and sharing mooncake little by little lets you slowly compare the tea’s aroma with the pastry’s sweetness. The tea and mooncake introduced today are arranged so you can experience these two food cultures in one place.

What is it usually eaten with?

Mooncake is often eaten with tea. Tea types and mooncake fillings vary, and the teaware and tea types on display are separate from the tasting menu. Because mooncake fillings and sweetness differ by variety, it is helpful to compare them alongside tea. To know the exact filling of today’s mooncake, please check the product label.
